She is the director of the Casco Art Institute in Utrecht, Netherlands (www.casco.art), where she engages in interdisciplinary artistic projects based on collaboration with various communities, leading the institution as a “commons institution.” Examples of programs carried out at the Casco Art Institute include: “Travelling Farm Museum of Forgotten Skills with the Outsiders, Site for Unlearning (Art Organization),” “Unmapping Eurasia with You,” and the annual gathering “Assembly for commoning art institutions” (since 2018). Choi is the author of numerous texts on art and communities and an academic lecturer, associated, among others, with the Academy of the Arts of the World in Cologne. She was the co-curator of the 11th edition of the Gwangju Biennale and the 7th edition of the Singapore Biennale, and is currently preparing – along with Wassan Al-Khudhairi and Noelle M.K.Y. Kahanu – the Art Triennial in Hawaii.
