Nabil Ahmed

Nabil Ahmed

Born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nabil Ahmed is an interdisciplinary researcher, artist, and writer. He was the founder of INTERPRT, a collective investigating crimes against the environment. The group employs spatial analysis tools and advocates for the criminalization of ecocide in international law. The results of INTERPRT’s investigations into cases of ecocide in the Pacific region have been presented at various venues including Arts Catalyst, Taipei Biennale in Taipei, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Centre for Possible Studies at Serpentine Gallery in London, Dhaka Art Summit, and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Nabil Ahmed has published in Third Text, Candide: Journal for Architectural Knowledge, MIT Press, Routledge, Documenta 14 Journal, Volume, Sternberg Press, Mousse Publishing, Scientific Reports, Archeological and Environmental Forensic Science. He earned his PhD from the Centre for Research Architecture, where he was affiliated with the Forensic Architecture collective. Currently residing and working in Trondheim, Norway, Nabil Ahmed teaches at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTUT).
